Applying to jobs doesn't work anymore.Instead, talk directly to who's hiring.

applications over five months.

I had a spreadsheet for everything. Company. Role. Date applied. Status. Most of the statuses said the same thing: nothing.

I thought I was doing the responsible thing. Apply early. Rewrite the resume. Keep going.

But a lot of job posts are already crowded the day they go up. Some are practically decided before anyone clicks apply. Others get thousands of applicants before you even finish your resume.

Then I saw on Reddit that other people were also applying to hundreds, if not thousands of jobs.

So I tried something different. I started emailing and talking to people at the companies I cared about. I asked what they were building, who was hiring, and how teams actually made decisions.

Two weeks later,
I had my first offer.

Verona is hopefully a better way to find jobs. One that isn’t just an endless stream of rejections.
